Dale Zuehls
Chief Advisor
Dale is one of the founding Principals of Zlco. Dale has over 50 years of experience in complex accounting, tax, and consulting matters for exempt organizations and governmental entities. He will be the relationship Partner on this engagement.
Dale is also Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF designation) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He is often retained to analyze, interpret, summarize, and present complex financial and business-related issues in a manner that is both understandable and properly supported in litigation and non-litigation contexts. In such engagements, he utilizes an understanding of business information and financial reporting systems, accounting and auditing standards and procedures, evidence gathering and investigative techniques, and litigation processes and procedures to perform the work. He also assumes a proactive risk reduction role by designing and performing extended procedures as part of the statutory audit, acting as an adviser to audit committees, and assisting in fraud deterrence engagements as well as in investment analyst research.
Dale is an author and frequent speaker on issues affecting exempt organizations. He has taught in several Master’s Programs (Golden Gate University, UCLA, USC, and others) and held various leadership positions within the “Big 4” accounting environment. Prior to Zlco, Dale was the partner-in-charge of a specific KPMG Exempt Organization Practice Segment for the Western Region and a national technical resource for KPMG exempt issues.
